Lourdes' Hospital

Dear Ones at Lourdes' Hospital Volunteer Services Department,

Having been a patient at both UHS and Lourdes, I, very much appreciate your staff and atmosphere. I'm aware that most every individual, paid, staff member has to endure major and/or minor aches and pains on a daily basis, in the process of trying to make a living wage. These may have a tendency to inhibit one's efficiency and congeniality within any workforce.

I am a Christian. My life's motto is found in the New Testament book of Colossians, chapter 3 and verse 23, "And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men." I really and truly enjoy helping others. And because of Lourdes' foundation of faith in the one and only true God, I freely extend my services to assist the well being of all your staff and management with thirty or more hours per month.

I've acquired two valuable health skills - reflexology and neuro-muscular therapy - through both instruction and practice since September of 1990 and as a business, since July of 1993. I am a certified reflexologist from the International Institute of Reflexology of St. Petersburg, Florida. I received my neuro-muscular therapy training from E. Jerome Cook, RMT, of Dallas, Texas. I had both liability and malpractice insurance of $2M per occurence and $3M aggregate with the International Reflexology Association of Warrenton, Va., who would co-insure any and all with/for whom my sevices are involved. They proved to be UNTRUTHFUL, as their web site contained much different information than their snail mail literature.

My original web site was http://health2u.homestead.com and a duplicate site is more appropriate as my own personal domain: http://reflexology4me.com where one may add, "/files/testimonials.htm" or "/files" to click on whatever else may be of interest.

During my most recent admission in your fine hospital, March 17th at about 6PM until 6:30PM on the 18th, 2004, for observation, I let it be known that I am a reflexologist. So, in just 24 hours, 13 nurses asked for and were relieved of various aches and pains, including a headache in just two minutes.

DO NOT GET ON THEIR CASE FOR ASKING. IT WAS NO BIG DEAL!! I HAD NO PAIN, WHATSOEVER, WHILE HELPING THEM. AND, BESIDES, THEY WERE MUCH MORE RELIEVED AND EFFICIENT IN THEIR DAILY TASKS OF HELPING THE INFIRMED. I'M CONTINUALLY ASKING IF ANYONE HAS ANY ACHES OR PAINS IN ALL KINDS OF PLACES AND SITUATIONS.

The same happened at the offices of Tier Orthopedic Associates on June 10th. I was there an extra 1.5 hours, working on six nurses and assistants at no charge and showed a nurse how to relieve another associate 's headache, after which I was removing various other aches and pains.

It shouldn't be too long before reflexology will be an approved health modality and be covered by insurance companies. I'm more than willing to offer my skills to help a hospital that really cares for the health and well being of its staff as well as its patients. And remember: reflexology does not heal the body; reflexology helps the body heal itself. Most every problematic part of one's body is identified by reflexology on one's hands or feet. Neuro-muscular therapy, applied to that specific bodily area, will either eliminate or greatly reduce the healing time. Please allow me to assist your care for all your fine staff, from your custodians to your CEO. It shouldn't be too difficult to create such a position. Just try it for a week and collect personal assesments of its efficacy, by all of the unbiased recipients. Thank you for listening.

Respectfully yours,
Donald W. Yates

Don has the approval of Lourdes' Hospital, at 169 Riverside Drive, in Binghamton, NY, to provide free Reflexology and Vitatherapy treatments to as many of the entire staff that desire the sensation of more room in one's shoes or that of walking on clouds, and from custodians  to the CEO,  effective November 10, 2004. He will be providing hand or foot treatments on various floors, in blocks of hours, as determined by Susan Bock, Director of Volunteer Services. He just purchased a Lafuma recliner, made in France, because of its comfort and portability, for these occasions. Please pray for him, that God will give him the needed wisdom and foresight to treat all, well. The Volunteer Staff requirement is ten hours per month, but Don plans to provide much more, as time permits, Lord willing.
