The Ingham method of reflexology to the hands and feet is, by far, one of the most unique of all health modalities available to everyone. Sadly, without reflexology training, misdiagnoses of tenderness in the hands and feet, in many cases, are inevitable. I, certainly, would not say this if I could not prove it!
Man has a wonderful and marvelous creator, the Word - Jesus Christ, as determined by St. John’s gospel, KJV, chapter one and verses 1-3, and on to the end of St. John. But, for those who hold to “The Big Bang Theory,” they must rely on the credence that Webster’s unabridged dictionary came about by an explosion in a print shop!
Now, please pay close attention!!
Specialized physicians, treating the hands and feet, are inseparable in their belief system and are diametrically opposed to reflexology. Both are firm and steadfast believers that all hand and foot pain is an isolated event and shall be treated, as such, to the very best of their abilities. Reflexologists are trained to know that if any part of one’s body has tenderness for any reason, a “dual distress signal” is automatically dispatched from that site, to a specific, provable reflex area in both the same-side hand and foot, and that, without question. What solutions are offered by these physicians? Among their possible options, are:
- Cortisone injections, which destroy the immune system,
- Orthotics, expensive shoe inserts, to ease the discomfort of the tender reflex areas in the plantar surfaces - soles of the feet - including the toes, or, as a last resort,
- Operations which needlessly/ultimately, alter/destroy the nerve tissue in the reflex areas of the hands/feet; sensations will be lost forever, causing a “Dead Zone Effect.”
Does the reflexologist/vitatherapist have a different solution? Yes, it’s the knowledge and wisdom that relates the dual, tender hand and foot reflex area to another same-side, part of the body. But you, the reader, must make your own decision. While I cannot speak for other reflexologists, I begin by working on the hands and ask to be told if I find any degree of tenderness. If any is found, I’ll tell you where your body has a problem, whether you know about it or not. I offer right-hand-only-vitatherapy, a branch of neuromuscular therapy, to speed the needed relief. Then I continue the hand treatment, working all remaining reflex areas in the same manner. And, as all “hand tenderness” becomes “history,” none will be found in the feet, making the foot treatment, most enjoyable. If any area of your body is deemed inappropriate to touch, even through the clothing, I place my right hand on a couch pillow, over that same area. Doing a hand or foot reflexology treatment equates to a complete physical.
Applying vitatherapy to the hurting areas of the body, related to the tender hand/foot reflexes, will speed the recovery time and the application effectiveness.
So, dear reader, have you reached any new conclusions? Or, will you strictly adhere to the dictates of your physician’s advice? Have I revealed any truth beyond your past level of understanding? At fairs and festivals, I offer a fifteen minute challenge: I’ll remove any ache or pain that I can cover with the palm of one of my hands, in fifteen minutes, or less, for just $10. If I cannot do it, there’s no charge, whatsoever. It works with 88-90% of all challengers. You tell me where you’re hurting and I’ll test the hand reflexes for tenderness, related to that area of your body. If any tenderness is found, and I have your permission to do so, I’ll apply the vitatherapy through a couch pillow.
As a specific and, to me, a very disturbing example of erroneous, professional diagnosis, I cite the following example. If a woman has a tender area in one of her breasts, it will automatically dispatch a “dual distress signal,” in the form of equal tenderness, to the proportionate area in both the same-side metacarpals of the hand and the metatarsals of the foot. And the reflexologist can accurately point to the area where the problem(s) is/are existing. (The testimonial portion of my web site proved it was two cysts in a woman’s left breast at the Chenango County Fair in the summer of 2000 at Norwich, NY, as I worked on her left hand, and, would have been in her left foot, also.) Since that time, I’ve relieved similar problems, in nearly three hundred women with vitatherapy, through a couch pillow, to avoid any/all inappropriate touching. Podiatrists and orthopedics, without reflexology, will, generally, misunderstand many sources.
On Monday, October 15, 2007, a woman came to my home office for a reflexology treatment, requesting I work on her hands and feet. She had four tender, chest/breast reflex areas. One was in the metacarpals of the left hand and three in the right hand. I pointed to the related sites in her breasts and she verified that I was correct by pressing her finger tips in all of them. Then I offered to provide the vitatherapy to relieve those discomforting sites before proceeding to complete the hand treatment. Her total treatment, including the feet, took 90 minutes and she was very pleased to experience no remaining discomfort in either side of her chest or in the respective reflex areas in the metacarpals of her hands or the metatarsals of her feet.
